Unisoya: Process optimization with Transfo solution
Located in Saint-Isidore-de-La-Prairie, Quebec, Unisoya has been producing GMO- and trans-fat-free tofu since 1986. Today, with over 40 employees, this family-run business is proud to contribute to making food that’s as good for people as it is for the planet, by doing business with local soy producers.
From manual management to real-time traceability
Before working with Epsilia, Mathieu Beaulieu, co-owner at Unisoya, had to take a physical inventory of his products every morning using an Excel file. Fortunately, in his industry, crates don’t stay in the warehouse long before being shipped. However, it was very difficult to locate each of them. Quality control suffered. The entrepreneur and his partners wanted to do away with manual management, lack of precision and the impossibility of tracing products.
In 2017, Unisoya called on Epsilia’s services to better manage the quality of its sampling. In the years that followed, the collaboration continued, this time to take a technological turn by implementing an interconnected management solution. Epsilia has implemented an ERP system connected to the company’s accounting software to facilitate the management of sales and purchase orders. Once the data has been processed by the former, it is transferred to the latter. To complete the package, Epsilia also implemented its TRANSFO solution, comprising various modules that optimized inventory management, automatically generated product labels, quantified raw materials, and ensured efficient management of their receipt and dispatch.
Convincing results
Thanks to TRANSFO, Mathieu Beaulieu can now track all products in real time, at every stage of their journey. He can also see in real time what’s in his inventory and how much raw material is being processed – essential information for his work. On the shipping and order-picking side, he can consult a wealth of detailed information on products, such as their origin, location, shipping date, production date, and so on. What’s more, if one of our customers encounters a problem, they can easily find the case in question thanks to the batch number and code associated with the product.
In short, our collaboration with Epsilia over the last five years has been extremely fruitful. Unisoya has considerably improved the efficiency of its operations, inventory management and product traceability. And it’s far from over!
